Long exposure photography is a technique where the camera’s shutter is left open for an extended period, allowing more light to hit the camera sensor. This technique captures the passage of time in a single image, creating effects that are not visible to the naked eye.

Traveling and photographing new places can significantly boost your inspiration. This summer, I was incredibly fortunate to embark on a trip of a lifetime to North America, and then across the border to Ontario, Canada.

He showed me his portfolio of printed images in lovely A3 binder that he purchased at Springback Binders and I was absolutely gobsmacked how well they looked printed. I instantly knew I needed to start printing mine so I picked his brains as to how and where he got them printed and was amazed when he said he invested in a printer and printed them himself.

To be honest I have never liked posting, I struggle with being creative with my content and putting myself out there. Before trying to push my photography, I would probably only post a few times a year on Facebook and Instagram about random things. I've always been more of a scroller than a serial poster!

There are so many fantastic places to visit and capture images of in the UK, so I thought I would introduce you to my favourite places close to home to take pictures. I thought it may help with inspiration and if you have never been to Essex before I’ll tell you why you should visit and my favourite places to take my camera and snap away.

Starting with my home town -

This was the part of photography I didn’t particularly enjoy at the beginning. However with practice and learning my own style I now really enjoy the editing process. There is something really satisfying to seeing the before and after!

In my opinion as a beginner I would suggest a camera a couple of lenses, camera strap and bag, tripod, memory card and possibly a couple of spare batteries. Depending on what photography you intend to do you might want to add lighting to that list.

So there I was quickly googling camera gear within my budget and working out how I could upgrade my lenses.

After a short period I had managed to buy a new lens that was going to help me produce these stunning images. I had also spent money on a few filters and a Joby -GorillaPod because all YouTubers seem to have them!
